In exercise of powers conferred under Section 86(1) and 61(h) of the Electricity Act, 2003 (No. 36 of 2003), Madhya Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission had issued a tariff order on 06.07.2010 for procurement of power from Solar Energy based Power Generation in MP, which is available on Commissions website www.mperc.org. The control period of this order shall expire on 31.03.2011. The Commission proposes to extend the control period of the aforesaid tariff order till 31.03.2012. Accordingly, the Clause 4.1 (a), (b) and (c) of the tariff order shall also be modified as under : (a) (b) (c) Solar PV Power Plant for which Power Purchase Agreements are signed by 31.03.2012 and the projects are commissioned by 31.03.2013. Solar Thermal Power Plants for which Power Purchase Agreements are signed by 31.03.2012 and the projects are commissioned by 31.03.2014. Rooftop and other small Solar Power Plants of capacity up to 2 MW connected to distribution network (below 33 kV) for which Power Purchase Agreements are signed by 31.03.2012 and the projects are commissioned by 31.03.2014.

It is also proposed to amend Clause 7.1 of the tariff order as under : The tariff indicated above is the maximum tariff and M.P.Urja Vikas Nigam Limited, the State Nodal Agency or M.P.Power Trading Co. on behalf of the Distribution Licensee, as the case may be, shall invite bids from Generators/Developers. Generators/Developers bidding lower tariff will be allowed to install the power plant and sell the generated power to State Utilities. A public hearing in the matter shall be held on 15.03.2011 at 11:30 AM in the Court Room of the Commission. Interested person may attend the hearing and submit comments/suggestions/ objections, if any. An explanatory memorandum on the above proposed order is also available on Commissions website.
