HAROLD L.

COHEN
September 10-15
September 10-15, 2012 Czurles-Nelson Gallery 1300 Elmwood Ave. Buffalo, NY 14222 Lecture: Sepcember 14 11am-12:50pm Czurles-Nelson Gallery The Art Printing is as much of an art as it is a science for Cohen as he has the ability to work in many different media. His selection of plate materials (wood, linoleum, plastics, metals), assists in his spatial manipulations and creates an emotional environment for the viewer. With his ability to engrave, carve or etch his images, the resulting prints are quite diverse. Cohen's love of people, religion and his search for universal truths are as easily depicted in his paintings or sculptures as they are in his prints. His special talent makes it possible to deliver paintings that create sensitive as well as vibrant and moving images. Cohen has the keen ability to draw his viewers into his thoughts; from within a microscopic view to his grand views of the universe. His personal views of people, lost in isolation of illness or in celebration of life, create emotional and often disturbing images for the viewer.
