2012 Robert I.

Larus Poster Award

The Robert I. Larus Award is presented to a graduate student for his/her outstanding research. The winner is selected from among competing students presenting posters at the American Association for the Advancement of Science Caribbean Division 2012 Annual Conference that will be held on September 22, 2012 at the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus in the School of Nursing. Interested parties must send an abstract to Dr. Horacio Serrano to horacio.serrano@upr.edu. Abstract deadline: August 15, 2012. The text of the abstract should not exceed 250 words and the title is limited to 120 characters (including spaces), followed by the name of the presenting author, co-authors (including the research advisor), address and e-mail. The abstract must contain: (a) specific questions, hypotheses, and objectives, (b) methodologies, (c) results, and (d) conclusions. The poster should be 3 x 5 (width x height; portrait layout) and will be presented in English and the winner must be prepared to travel abroad. The winner receives an award and all expenses covered to present the work at the AAAS Annual Meeting on February 14 - 18, 2013 in Boston, MA.
