Absorption, distribution, metabolism & excretion is affected by: AGE and physiologic process 2. Drugs are commonly contraindicated to pregnancy, lactation,& allergy 3. Avoid giving meds. With antacid, grapefruit, milk & dairy products 4. Enteric coated and sustained release tablets should not be crushed, chewed, & capsules should not be open 5. Nsg. Intervention includes monitoring intended effect, side effect, adverse effect, toxic affect. focus on assessment 6. Nsg. Intervention should includes client education 7. The nurse or ct. should not withhold or adjust the dose: except if + adverse effect 8. Avoid OTC prep/herbal unless order 9. Avoid consuming alcohol & smoking 10. Wear medic-alert bracelet: MAOISACAm
