A Spirited Conversation with Grant Robertson Member of Parliament for Wellington Central, Grant Robertson is Labours Deputy Leader, Spokesperson for the Environment and Spokesperson for Tertiary Education, Skills and Training. He has worked at the UN in New York, was a New Zealand diplomat representing our views on the environment, economic development, population, overseas aid, and South Pacific issues. He was the Vice President of the Board of the UN Development Programme and UN Population Fund and he managed the NZ Overseas Aid Programme to Samoa a $7.7 million fund with projects in diverse areas such as basic education, healthcare, public sector capacity building, small business development, and the empowerment of women. He has been an advisor to former Prime Minister Rt Hon Helen Clark as well as to MP Hon Marian Hobbs, and prior to becoming an MP himself he was working to promote and develop research activities at the University of Otago in Wellington.
