Update- 24 August Dear parents, As you can see, the Gold side had a lot of fun today in our

teambuilding activities! We are really shaping up to be a kind and caring community. Ask your children to fill you in on some of the activities they participated in. Next week in EnglishWe begin our Book Clubs! Students have ranked their choices for the novel they want to read and will check their new books out on Wednesday. Please review their book and make sure you feel that their choice has content that you feel is appropriate for their maturity level. We have many new titles to choose from. If you have concerns regarding your childs choice, please let me know and we can choose another selection. We will be working in discussion groups, and learning and using metacognitive strategies to aid comprehension and increase enjoyment. The kids are excited about Book Clubs! Next week in Social StudiesWe will introduce our Current Events unit, show students examples, and explain expectations for students current event reports. Students are expected to do one current event report per semester. They will help design the grading rubric so they will have a deeper understanding of what is required.
