Reading

In reading, the students will build extraordinary reading lives. We will discuss applying strategies we know while reading, use of the reading log, retelling, and reading bet ween the lines.

Week of 8/27
Writing
In Writing this week, we will continue to work on writing memoirs. We will be collecting and focusing on developing our small moments using action, incorporating dialogue, and using descriptive details to bring our stories to life!

*Math

test tutorials will be held on Monday after school and Tuesday morning before school. * Math test is 2 parts & will be on
Wed & Thursday. * Parent Night will be on Thursday evening from 6 - 8:30. *Hopes & Dreams conferences are on Friday, August 31st. See you then! Social Studies
The students will continue to research Colonial America through media and texts, and will be choosing one of the 13 colonies to research and create a presentation to share with their classmates as we go through this week.

Math

We will be completing our first unit in Math and will be having our part 1 of our test on Wednesday and part 2 on Thursday.

There will be tutorials held on Monday after school and Tuesday before school to review the material and prepare for the test. Study guides will be sent home in this weeks Friday folders.
