The theme is Enlightenment, focusing on the intellectual revolution in Europe between the 16th and 18th Centuries. The cauldron will make a second appearance, this time with 166 copper petals rather than 205. Rumours abound over Stephen Hawkings involvement, right. He could appear in a pre-recorded segment. Peter Norfolk, who won wheelchair tennis gold in Athens and Beijing, is the flag bearer for Team GB. Aerobility, a charity that helps those with impairments to fly, has assembled its own special team for a fly-past.
