TOURISM MANAGEMENT

Course Structure Tourism is one of the fastest growing sectors of the global economy. As global affluence and leisure time increases, the demand for travel and destination facilities increases, not only in degree, but also in kind. Attracting and serving the needs of international tourists require professionalism and competence of a very high standard, and as demand increases so does the need for trained and competent professionals at all levels. This course is a small but important step in initiating the learner for a career in the tourism industry. The major components of the course would be: Philosophies, Principles, & Practices of Tourism - Marketing of Tourism Services - Tourism Product Development & Management - Tourist Behavior Tourism Entrepreneurship - Information & Communication Technologies for Tourism - Ecotourism & Tourism Alternatives Travel Agencies & the Management of Tour Operations Accommodation Management Transportation Management Event Management - Tourism Planning & Policies - Tourism Research Methods Cultural Tourism - Tourism in India - Current Debates in Tourism Management.
