JOINT BASE LEWIS-McCHORD

Supervisor: Ms. Robin Baker, Transition Services Manager Session: Autumn 2012 Duration: 10 Weeks (min 15 hours per week) Compensation: Uncompensated Internship Intern will work with the Army Career and Alumni Program (ACAP), the Armys transition assistance program. Focus will be geared towards collecting, compiling, and analyzing key demographic information regarding employers, employment opportunities, and educational programs by county in the greater Puget Sound Area. Analyzing and interpreting this data into comprehensive, useable information for military leaders, state agencies and supporting partners will be a key component of this project. The internship will culminate in the opportunity to present a detailed brief to the Transition Services Manager and Director of Human Resources at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, along with key state and partner agencies. The goal is to identify key areas of overlap or gaps in service and to find opportunities to better support the successful transition of Service Members and their families from active or reserve military service in the State of Washington. We also wish to assist Washington businesses, organizations, and educational institutions to meet their needs for skilled labor and enthusiastic students.
