Negative Feedback Mechanism: (Renal Electrolyte System)
Negative Feedback Mechanism: (Renal Electrolyte System)
Introduction
Negative Feedback is a mechanism in which the output of a pathway inhibits inputs to the pathway, reaching homeostasis, that is the maintenance of hormone levels within appropriate physiological range.
Example 2
Aldosterone, a hormone secreted by the kidneys, regulate the transport of sodium from the nephron to the blood. When sodium level in the blood falls, Aldosterone is released into the blood, causing more sodium to pass from the nephron to the blood. This causes water to flow into the blood by osmosis. Renin is released into the blood to control Aldosterone.
