1. Is the separator adequate? If NOT, what is the issue/concern?

a) The separator is NOT adequate; this is because the incoming flow into the separator is above the limit (i.e. deviates from PTS). This can be identified from the filling degree whereby based on spreadsheet V-300B operates at 90% filling degree which is 30% higher than the allowable filling degree limit (i.e. 60%). 2. What is the efficiency of the separator? Mol of liquid in vapor outlet (m3/kmol) = 0.027 Mol of liquid in inlet (m3/kmol) = 0.36 Separator efficiency = = 92.5% 3. What is the maximum liquid handling capacity of the separator? (In terms of flow rate). Is there any ullage for this equipment Ullage is the free space above the liquid in the separator provided to allow the separation of fluid into gas and liquid phase as well as to accommodate expansion of the liquid. Based on the spreadsheet, gas cap height (m) of V-300 is 0.15m which deviates from the PTS (i.e. 0.6m). Therefore, the separator operates at insufficient area of where the separation of both gas and liquid takes place. 4. Is the existing level alarm and control appropriate? If NOT propose a new setting. (control room action) NO, the existing level alarms are deviate from PTS criteria whereby the control time validity is not met with PTS. Both the LA(L) to LA(H) and LA(H) to LZA(HH) retention time is less than control time validity. 5. Are the nozzles adequately sized All the nozzles are adequately sized 6. Are all velocities appropriate? a. Nozzles inlet : velocities criteria is met (i.e. nozzle velocity < max allowable feed nozzle) b. Nozzles gas outlet : velocity criteria is met (i.e. nozzle velocity < max allowable outlet nozzle) ( ) x 100

c. Nozzles liquid outlet: velocity criteria is met (i.e. does not exceed 1m/s) 7. Is the pressure drop across the equipment acceptable? The pressure drop of the separator is 0.049902 bar which is acceptable

8. Is the pressure drop across the nozzles acceptable? The pressure drop of the nozzles is acceptable

9. Referring to question (1) if the separator is inadequate, propose 3 changes that can be made to this equipment/process/operation to meet the limitations of the vessel. a) Increase the separator diameter (i.e. D > 4.7m) b) Decrease the inlet flow rate (m3/min) - valve c)
