Values is a judgment element of what is right , good , or desirable

Values lay the foundation for the understanding of attitudes and motivation because they influence our perceptions. Individuals enter organization with motions of what is right and wrong with which they interpret behaviors or out comes Values generally influence attitude and behavior

TERMINAL VALUES INSTRUMENTAL VALUES

TERMINAL VALUES
Desirable end states of existence ; the goals that a person would like to achieve during his or her lifetime Examples A sense of accomplishment i.e. lasting contribution Freedom i.e. independence, free choice Social recognition i.e. respect, admiration

INSTRUMENTAL VALUES
Preferable modes of behavior or means of achieving ones terminal values. Examples Ambitious i.e. hard working Capable i.e. competent/effective Cheerful i.e. lighthearted/joyful Honest i.e. truthful/sincear
