Job Title: Part-Time Tutor in the Tacoma-Federal Way Areas POSTING DATE: September 4, 2012 Application Deadline Date: October 1, 2012 Reports To: Curriculum and Instruction Specialist of SEIU Healthcare 1199NW Multi Employer Training and Education Fund (healthcareerfund.org) Position Overview: The SEIU Healthcare 1199NW Multi-Employer Training and Education Fund is looking for tutors to support hospital employees pursing degrees and certifications in high demand healthcare field. We currently need tutors in the following areas: Biology, Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology.

Essential Functions: Ability to travel to tutor at local hospitals, libraries, and colleges in the area Ability to adapt tutoring style meet the needs of students with varying skills levels and needs Ability to tutor multiple subject areas

Educational Requirements: Experience teaching adults Bachelor Degree (preferred) Experience working with a diverse student population and English Language Learners Bi-lingual (optional)

Responsibilities: Effectively teach subject matter one on one or to a small group of adult students Work closely with Case Managers and the Curriculum and Instruction Specialist to address students instructional needs Monitor the progress of students Assist in creating innovative solutions to improve the curriculum and the teaching/learning process
