Tara K. McCann, youth and teen services librarian for the Belleville Area District Library, loves super heroes. Shes dressed as Batgirl at comic book conventions, has her own comic book in the works and craves the hero archetype in many of the books she reads. McCann, it turns out, is a bit of a hero in her community. She doesnt put on a cape and she doesnt swing from rooftops she advocates empowering Bellevilles youth from the Fred C. Fischer Library. Since stepping into her current role in 2007, McCann has tripled the teen section in the library, introduced many new youth learning activities and has grown popularity in all of them. She has 25 copies of The Hunger Games books; five of which are signed by the author, Suzanne Collins.
