PARDON/EXPUNGEMENT WORKSHOP TO BE HELD IN DARLINGTON A workshop that explains how to obtain a pardon or expungement for criminal conv ictions will be held at Thursday, Sept. 27 at 9 a.m. at the Bethel AME Church, 1 333 South Main St., Darlington. Representatives from the SC Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services will be there with details on pardons. Fourth Judicial Circuit Solicitor Will wi ll be there to explain how to obtain an expungement. A pardon clears any legal impediments for a person who wants to obtain certain j obs and professional licenses, and provides other legal advantages in the state. (However, it is not needed to register to vote). An expungement clears the criminal record of convictions obtained in South Carol ina. The differences between the two and how to obtain them will be explained at the conference.
