The background is a foundation of the image. It consists of four different elements, which together create a coherent, whole. It seems paradoxical when approached, through the prism of symbolism. Individual elements can then depict totally different aspects. It is a crucial element for understanding the meaning of the whole scene. All objects/items are carefully arranged and interact with the background.
