The AKG C12 is perhaps the most desirable, legendary microphone of all time. Its superb, unmatched performance along with its extreme rarity make this microphone the holy grail for vintage audiophiles It was one of the first microphones with the option of switching between differ pickup patterns. This, combined with its crisp, clean sound due to the peaks from 5,000-15,000 Hz make this a superb microphone for everything from vocals, to acoustic and electric guitars, to drum micing. This microphone will set you back a large amount. The new AKG remakes cost a solid 5,000. But the vintage models which were only produced for 10 years in the 50s have sold for double, triple, or even quadruple that amount.
