The Benenson Strategy Group conducted 400 telephone interviews in the 3rd Congressional District of Iowa from September 18, 2012 through September 20, 2012. All respondents were registered voters in the district who are likely to vote in this years general election. The margin of error for the entire sample is 4.9% at the 95% confidence level.
The race for Iowas Third Congressional District is currently tied: 45% Boswell 45% Latham, including leaners Scott Batcher, an independent candidate, currently polls at 7%. Among those not registered as Democrats or Republicans, Boswell leads 49-34, with Batcher pulling 12%. In a generic, unnamed horserace: 48% would vote for the Democratic candidate and 44% would vote for the Republican.
