Enos Sims : An Award in his name is presented each year for a pupil excelling in oracy. Mr. Sims had a wide range of interests he had been a local Councillor and was for many years a Governor and staunch supporter of the school. George Eveleigh: Former Head of Mathematics at Afon Taf E. Stanley Edwards: Formerly a dentist in Troedyrhiw and the chairman of the Friends of Afon Taf Gwyneth Evans : Former teacher at Pantglas Secondary School, Assistant Head of Upper School at Afon Taf, Secretary of the Joseph Parry Society M erthyr Vale and Aberfan Youth Choir : Awarded a bursary at Afon Taf when the choir ceased to exist. Formed by J. Hayden Phillips and Gwyneth Evans in the years following the Aberfan Disaster. Troedyrhiw M usic Awards : Anonymous donation from person with interest in encouraging musical talent. W . T.
