1.1 Comparison Parameters Quantum Compare is a unicode-based system that reads and distills PDFs for comparison from a number of document layouts. This advanced system analyzes the underlying data of each character, rather than its shape or appearance. COMPARISON PROCESS Quantum Compare allows the operator to specify zones. These zones interpret the document in the manner in which it will be read or a user can zone only specic areas of interest for a comparison. Quantum Compare compiles the words present in both Master and Sample les, compares the underlying data values, then reports results to the operator. In the Comparison Sample 1.2 the subscript 0-24 was left out after the words AUC, the system reports the change as a deleted word. The change is highlighted in the document in its original context and in the same reading order as the zoned document. The dierence is also listed in the Dierence Navigator, along with specic details of the comparison results.

ANALYSIS The Dierence Navigator assists the operator in discovering error details within the document. What was changed? What is the precise nature of the change? Was a word deleted, modied or added? Where did the change occur? The Dierence Navigator also shows the original word alongside the changed word for the operator to examine.
