Treatment

By Sophie Field and Alyce Lopez

Concept
We have chosen to make a music video for the song In for the kill by La Roux (Skreams lets get ravey remix). The song is of a pop/dubstep genre. The song appealed to us due to the multiple editing opportunities based on the beat. We interpreted the song to have a horror/dark theme. The song was used in an advert for the hit show Misfits.

Concept
Our aim for the video is to create a story that has not been told

before behind the song, so it is not seen as a typical dance track with no underlining meaning. We want the story to include the breakdown of relationships and how it can affect someone e.g. Rebellion. 1st verse to portray arguments/broken relationships (through shadows) Chorus the girl starts to rebel against society and going off the rails (could include mob of people.) 2nd verse girl allows herself to accept what has happened and how she feels, as she has realised rebelling is not the answer.

Codes & Conventions

Wide shots of location Panning shots of mob (possible focus pull) Lighting shadows, high contrast, ambient, dim Extreme close up (eyes, mouth etc.) Dark lighting to represent her sinister mood Stop Motion

Audience
Age youths/young adults Gender both We want our audience to feel like they have seen a whole new theme within a music video. We will appeal to our target audience, because our video could relate to the lives of many young people.
