What is Hyperthermia?
Medical treatment which involves heating a part of the body to a temperature of 42 degree Celsius(108F). At this temperature, cancer cells can be destroyed more easily, by radiation and anticancer drugs.

How does it works?


Acts mainly on tumor cells. Tumor cells have a highly disorganized blood supply. When heated, they are unable to dissipate the heat. Temperature rises within the tumor, gets damaged. Damages cells specially in the S- phase.

Who gets hyperthermia?


Tumors on the skin,or just under the skin. Head and neck cancers. Spread to the lymph nodes. Tumors inside the lower abdomen (pelvis)- like rectum,bladder,prostrate, cervix.
