Baltimore Police Seize Numerous Weapons in South Baltimore
October 4, 2012 / Baltimore, Md - The Baltimore Police Departments Southern District Flex Squad arrested a man for aggravated assault and confiscated sixteen weapons. On October 2nd at approximately 6:30 pm, Officers from the Southern District responded to an armed person report in the 1200 block of Carroll Street. This area is directly near the scene of a triple shooting that occurred on September 28th in the 1200 block of W. Cross Street. Upon arriving at the scene, officers made contact with a male who alleged that Mr. Wayne Petty, who resides in the 1200 block of Carroll Street, just pointed a gun at him. Petty was then observed and detained in front of his residence. Upon further investigation it was learned that Petty had access to the below listed weapons which were located inside of his residence. Officers also learned that Petty is prohibited from possessing a firearm, due to an armed robbery conviction. Petty was placed under arrest and is now facing the following charges: First and second degree assault, firearm use/felony-violent crime, firearm possession with a felony conviction, rifle/shotgun possession, and long barrel shot gun possession.
