2) Under what conditions should you use wet sieving instead of drying sieving ? If you want to use wet sieving make sure you are doing the test of hard soil particles and it not contain moisture, the moisture content will interrupted the data on weight retained and passing.

3) What are the smallest and largest mesh openings used in practice for determining grain size distribution ? Usually we use 14.0mm as the largest mesh openings and 0.075 as the smallest mesh openings for determining grain size distribution.

4) Is it possible to carry out a sieve analysis on a sample of clay ? Yes, it is possible we can do it by wet sieve analysis method.
