How did the Great Awakening unify American ideas?

The Great Awakening unified American ideas by making everybody know that there equal. For example: Many women and African Americans

were saved during the Great Awakening.


(Spiritual equality)

The Great Awakening is one of Americas truly events. There were many of Christian sermons and church meetings in the colonies at the 1700s. The Great Awakening changed life in the colonies.

There were problems the Great Awakening made and solved and here are two of them.

The Great Awakening divided the colonists.


Men and women who converted during the First Great Awakening were forced to go against traditions (Some churches split)

Comparison of New lights or Old lights!

New lights: Were people who were following the ideas of the Great Awakening. (many were Baptists or Methodists.) Old lights: Were people who were following the traditions of the church.

George Whitefield traveled around from colony to colony advising the citizens to return their faith to god. However Jonathon Edwards preached a semon called Simers in the Hands of an angry god.
