Research in Mrs. Wiley's 3rd Grade Class
Research in Mrs. Wiley's 3rd Grade Class
M E D I A C E N T E R U P DAT E
This month we invited 10 classes from grades 2-4 to the Media Center to conduct research projects. Learning how to use various media to locate appropriate information is a skill that will benefit all students. By providing students with the tools and understanding for research, we can promote an interest in life-long inquiry and learning. Using PebbleGo, 6 of our second grade classes learned how to research the Life Cycle of frogs, ladybugs, butterflies, and chickens. Using PebbleGo and Britannica Elementary, Mrs. Wileys 3rd grade class came in to research Paul Revere and his contribution to the founding of America. Two of our 4th grade classes used various databases to research Native Americans. Students were provided the knowledge and tools to access various databases at home to complete their research on Native Americans independently at home. With the hustle and bustle of students parading in and our this month, we never lost focus of our schools mission: Helping all students to reach the top of Mount Exceeds! Research projects are just one of the ways we helped our students succeed this month. Please see below for other exciting Media Center news and contributions.
