August 1, 2012 Dear Parents/ Guardians: Mabuhay! As part of the requirements of Geography 131 (Geography of the Philippines), our class will be conducting a three days and three nights Out of Classroom Learning Activity (OCLA) in the provinces of Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur. This will be held on August 24 to August 27, 2012. The class will meet at Palma Hall Steps at exactly 7pm on August 24 (Friday). We are expected to return at around 7am on August 27 (Monday). The objectives of this OCLA are to: (1) Expose the students to the varied landscapes and seascapes of Ilocos provinces; (2) Experience the rich culture of Ilocos; (3) Visit historical sites such as Paoay and Sarat Church and Marcos Museum; (4) Appreciate the countrys famous renewable energy source in Bangui; (5) Facilitate social interaction among the participants, in a rural setting; and (6) Apply the knowledge they acquired in class discussions. A fee of P3,500 will be collected to cover transportation, accommodation, meals (3) and entrance fees. In this light, may we request your permission to allow your son/daughter/ward to join the said activity. Thank you very much!
