Definition/s:
The fallacy of composition is committed when: one takes JOINTLY what should be taken SEPARATELY.
one infers that something is true of the whole from the fact that it is true of SOME PART of the whole or even of every proper part of the whole.
Example # 1 Atoms are colorless. Cats are made of atoms. So, cats are colorless.
Example # 2
Human cells are invisible to the naked eye. Humans are made up of human cells. Therefore, humans are invisible to the naked eye.
Example # 3 The numbers 1 and 3 are both odd. But 1 and 3 are 4. Therefore, the number 4 is odd.
