This short collection of Persian poetry represents some rubaiyyat and a masnavi of the Urdu, Persian and Arabic poet, Syed Muhammad Amir Imam (Hurr), [M.A. (Cantab)], originally from Lucknow, India. This work is a small sample of the poets work in the Persian language which originally came into the public domain back in the 1960s. Hurr’s other works include qasidas in Arabic, ghazals in Urdu, elegiac poems and elegiac epic poetry in Urdu, otherwise called a marsiaya. His marsiya poetry takes the form of a musaddas, i.e. poetry comprising of sextains (six-line stanzas).
