ATTENDANCE:

CHANGING THE WAY

Introduction
ATTENDANCE is a mobile application for both Nokia S40 series mobiles and for Android OS. Through this application one can mark attendance through his/her mobile. The only thing he/she requires for attendance

is a file in which the name of all the students will be written. Any number of classes can be maintained for attendance through this application.

How It Works
User stores his/her file into SDCard of phone. Opens the application. Uploads the new file or can use the existing file that has been uploaded recently by same user. Opens the file for which he wants to take attendance. Application shows the names and Roll number of students one by one. For each name there are two options: 1. Present 2. Absent

User can click button according to the status of current students availability in class.
During the process of this attendance through mobile, file keeps on updating and the attendance is saved in the file. File is generally an EXCEL or CSV file so that it becomes easy for the user to view the file on computer system. After taking attendance, user can close the application or can continue with another file without closing it.

Future Perspective
Currently it marks only attendance, Can be extended for providing more feature of Attendance register that is maintained by Teacher.
Currently user can not modify file in Nokia but can be extended for that purpose also. Files can be stored at Google Docs so that they can be accessed from any where.

Application:
Complete Attendance register can be maintained by web application on which user can upload its attendance file, can view and

modify it manually.
Course plan and Course Completion facility

can be added.
