Spelling Rule

RULE: The letter q is always followed by the letter u eg quick, queen, quiet RULE: The bossy e at the end of a word makes the vowel say its name.

Spelling Words Write your list out in your homework book. Learn your words for Fridays test. (Either Look Cover Write Check, spell aloud to a family member, type out on the computer or any other way that helps you learn your words)

Spelling Rule Write 5 q words that are not in your list. Write 5 words that are not in your list that have a bossy e.

Literacy Activity Write at least 3 compound sentences using the conjunctions below. Try and write one using each conjunction. A compound sentence is when you join two sentences together using a conjunction. The most common conjunctions are: and, although, as, because, but, if, or, though, where, whether. Challenge Question Brainteasers: 1) If it takes six men one hour to dig six holes, how long does it take one man to dig half a hole? 2) What five letter word becomes shorter when you add two letters to it?

Maths This week in class we are focusing on: * 3D Space * Whole Number Log onto Study Ladder and complete some activities that are related to these topics.

HSIE/ Science Find out something about the Aboriginal people that first lived in the Engadine area before white people came, eg: What shelters did they use, what foods did they eat, where did they get water from, or how did they communicate etc.
