NGCP conducts 1st North Luzon Security-ISAFP Conference The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), through its North Luzon Security Group, recently conducted the 1st joint conference with members of the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces (ISAFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), and the National Intelligence Coordination Agency (NICA) last September 26 at the Hotel Supreme in Baguio City. The activity aimed to exchange information, best practices, and strategies in order to maintain and ensure the reliable and safe transmission of power. It was also a venue to solicit invaluable assistance and support of all law enforcement counterparts in securing transmission line facilities and pressing right-of-way concerns. In response, PNP Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) Police Chief Superintendent Benjamin Banez Magalong directed his Provincial Directors to extend security assistance and physical protection of NGCP facilities and to enjoin lateral coordination with the companys security personnel counterparts. Representatives of the different Group Commanders under ISAFP and NICA pledged their full support and are now monitoring and doing surveillance operations, especially in areas where NGCPs engineering projects are ongoing. A similar conference will also be conducted in South Luzon area this quarter. NGCP is a privately owned corporation in charge of operating, maintaining, and developing the countrys power grid. It transmits high-voltage electricity through power superhighways that include the interconnected system of transmission lines and towers, substations and related assets. ### (Photos on the next page)
