Protecting Our Environment

Mark Grisanti is a staunch supporter of the Environmental Protection Fund (EPF), a dedicated, self-funding program that protects our drinking water, parks and family farms. The EPF has huge economic benefits for Western New York, too. A recent study found that every dollar invested in the EPF returns seven dollars to our state.1 This year, Senator Grisanti sponsored legislation that directs any unclaimed money from bottle deposits into the EPF. By using this unclaimed money, we all benefit from a healthier environment without having to face higher taxes.

Creating Jobs
Since 1993, the EPF has put more than $62 million2 to work in Erie County by supporting critical programs that protect our clean water, local businesses, open spaces and public health, including: 34 million to protect Erie Countys land, water and family farms. $ $8 million to improve our museums, historic houses and the Buffalo Zoo. $5.5 million to create jobs and increase efficiency at local businesses. $4.5 million toward waterfront revitalization.
