Dear Parents, What treasures did your family find at Thrift Shop? Thank you to the many parents who helped to set up, sell and clean up. Photo retake day is Monday, Oct 29. If you want a retake you must send in the photos that you received earlier. If your child wasnt here for photo day, their photo will be taken on the 29th and you can order photos. Please sign up on line for the student, parent, teacher conference. Language arts - We finished reading Gooney Bird Greene. She was a 2nd grader who loved to tell stories. The students will be bringing home interview questions to ask you. The answers will be used to help us create our own stories. Each of the students has chosen an area in reading to focus on improving. Well be getting together in small groups to practice strategies. Well also enjoy a pumpkin poem and bake pumpkin muffins. Bible - Several of the final projects from Jesus Birth are on the blog, retellings with the ornaments and ebooks. Please take a look. Our next unit will be Jesus Begins His Ministry. A syllabus is attached and will be on the blog Bible resource page. You can help

your child by reading through the stories at home in your childs mother tongue and discussing the story. We will be dramatizing many of the stories in class. Mathematics - We have been working on place value, regrouping and money. We will continue to work on these skills. Have your child practice counting with Japanese coins; start with the largest and count on.
