WEAKNESS
11,000 MW of power production capacity is stuck because of no Coal linkages. Land issues. Deteriorating financial health of the state power utilities. NTPC suffered a generation loss of 250 million units.
OPPORTUNITIES
THREATS
Competition due to private players. Environmental concern. Coal related issues.
Conclusion
NTPC, being the backbone of Indias power sector, is powering the growth story of our country and with an aim to become worlds largest and best power producer its wheels are on the right track. Although it has to face competition and behave responsibly to the environment, there is a long way to go. It has everything, what it takes to reach at the Zenith.
