Cindy Hatten Brown Class of 1976

It is hard to believe I am old enough to see the high school I went to be torn down. I have a ton of good memories while attending OHS. It was wonderful having a small class, enabling you to know everyone, not only in your class, but the whole school. Once I got married and moved to Noble, IL, I was glad to be in a community similar to Oakland. It is a small community with a small school. Dave and my three children all graduated from Noble. While they were seniors they went to "The Ozarks" on their class trip (the amazing part of this is they went to the exact same place I went on my class trip as a senior). I will be unable to attend this glorious event as this is the weekend our family is having the grand opening for "BRUNO'S," our pizza and sandwich place in town. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers as you celebrate walking through our school one last time. Everyone take care and always remember, the building will be gone but the memories will be forever.

Submitted for the "OHS: 90 Years of Memories" event held May 12, 2012, to commemorate Oakland High School in Oakland, Illinois.
