St.

Peter School

OCTOBER
Our Week
Dear Parents, Remember that our Halloween celebration is this week. Students are allowed to wear their costume to school. We will go to Mass that day, so make sure it is appropriate for church. Thank you. This week in religion we will read, Chapter 22, All Saints Day. We will listen to stories about Saint Francis of Assisi and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. We will also watch a movie about Saint Francis. We have Mass on Wednesday and Thursday this week. In Math we will identify ordinal position to fourth, show time to the hour on a clock, order objects by size, identify numbers, identify before, after, between, and write and order money amounts to 10 cents. In Reading we will conclude our book on Sal and begin our next Superkid, Lily. Lily has a family of play lions. The letter we will study is L. We have also started to blend sounds for the letters we have learned and that will help us to read words. We will practice letter (sound) blending every day. Some of the skills we will work on include: identifying capital and lowercase letters, blending sounds for pairs of letters, encoding words, identifying the main idea of a story, identifying the initial /l/ sound and writing the letters L and l.
