General Pool Guidelines: 1. During Family Swim, parent must check-in 8 - 13 year old family members who do not need flotation devices with the lifeguard, if they are not swimming with their child. Parents MUST remain in the YMCA during this time. Those under the age of 8 years and needing the aid of flotation devices may not be left at the pool. Parents are required to be in water with children under 8 needing flotation. 2. No running on deck, no rough play on deck or in the water, no head first dives in shallow end. 3. No hanging on the ropes or pool ladders. No swimming under the ladder. 4. No gum allowed in pool, no open infectious wounds or band-aids allowed in pool. 5. Non-swimmers are not allowed in the deep end with flotation devices, except during swim lessons. 6. All swimmers must pass the swim test to be allowed in the deep end. 7. One person on diving board at a time, one bounce on board, no backward or twisting dives allowed. 8. One Lane is open at all times for Lap Swim, with the exception of SCUBA and Lifeguard classes. 9. You must be 14+ years of age or currently on a swim team to lap swim. 10. Adult lap swimming is allowed in lap lanes when pool is in use for swim lessons and classes. 11. Lap swimmers must share lap lanes during lap swim/water jog times. If there are more than 4 lap swimmers a third lap lane will be opened. More than 6 lap swimmers must circle swim in lap lanes. 12. Bathing suits are required. NO cut-offs, t-shirts, tank tops, or basketball shorts are allowed in pool. 13. Soap showers are required before entering pool. 14. Pay attention to the lifeguard's whistle. Lifeguard has authority to remove those not following these rules. 15.
