The Candle Flame The candle flame Burns low now, Low and blue, Barely keeping aflame.

I have been watching it For hours, lowering, Forming a pool of wax And slowly dissipating, Leaving the scent Of fruit and smoke As the tiny blue flame Burns its own life-force away. Yet it continues Unabated, as if It was unaware of The inevitability Of its demise. By Andrew Cohee
