NANO GENERATORS

Presented by: Devdas Malekar (112110004)

WHAT ARE NANO GENERATORS ?

WHY NANO GENERATORS?

Vibration of a bridge, Friction in mechanical transmission systems Deformation in the tires of moving automobiles Muscle-Driven In Vivo Nanogenerator contraction of a blood vessel Nano Belts Nano Films

HOW NG WORKS
Fundamental mechanism The fundamental mechanism of a NG is that, when it is dynamically strained under an extremely small force, a piezoelectric potential is generated in the nanowire and a transient ow of electrons is induced in an external load, as driven by the piezopotential to balance the Fermi levels at the two contacts

APPLICATIONS
Direct-Current Nanogenerator Driven by Ultrasonic Waves

Output: 1~4 w/cm3, 1 mV,

Biomedical Application
Implantable device that wirelessly communicates the local glucose concentration for diabetes management, the local temperature for infection monitoring after surgery pressure difference to indicate blockage of uid ow in the central nervous system and blood clotting can all be foreseen inhaling/exhaling of lungs, the beat of a heart , Body Motion

Muscle-Driven In Vivo Nano generator

A Nano generator for Energy Harvesting from a Rotating Tire

Power Density: 70 W /cm3 Output: 1.5 V, 25 nA, when travelled 12 mm at 30 m/s2

Maximum output power density approached 120 W/cm3. Self-powered tire pressure sensor Self-powered speed detector

Nano generator as self-powered vibration sensor
