Students will demonstrate the ability to take a basic meal from a favorite restaurant and research where each of the individual ingredients were originally domesticated/cultivated prior to the Columbian Exchange (before 1492). From there, students will demonstrate learning in technology by creating a Meal Brochure for food parts that are in their meal explaining where they originated from prior to 1492. Students will write an essay about the importance of the Columbian Exchange. Description 1. Students will then pick their favorite meal from a restaurant and research what ingredients are in this meal. Students can use the website below to help find the meal and ingredients. 2. Students will use a variety of resources to research information on the Columbian Exchange. This will include the history of the exchange, important people involved, and different foods that were traded. 3. Students will create a menu list of the food used and also a brochure to show where the food came from prior to the Columbian Exchange. 4. Students will present their finding to the class through a presentation using a variety of different medias What You Will Turn In: 1. Give examples of everyday products we take for granted than are not native to this hemisphere. 3. What were the positive and negative effects of the Columbian Exchange? 3. One Page Reflection (20 points)
