After taking actions to practice my decision-making and decisiveness competency, I have gained a lot.

Decision-making and decisiveness means using sound judgment and analytic skills to make appropriate decisions, and know when to move from analysis to action. I deeply know the process of making decision, and understand that I also need to be decisive in order to make a good decision. I do as what I have written in my competency development plan. I participated in a team work, and I was the leader who should make decision about the right way to do the homework. It was about a case, and we should find good ways to solve the problem faced by the company. I suggested that we should first identify the real underlying problem, and generate good alternatives from all possible perspectives. Then we evaluated the feasibility, risks, and implications of each choice, and chose the best alternative. I was in charge of checking the decision and making sure that the process has been thorough, and no common errors exist in the decision-making process. Finally, I explained the decision to my team members, and then we started to take actions. All my team members agreed on my decision and spoke highly of me. I feel my advancement in decision-making and decisiveness, and I will continue to participate in decision-making process.
