SRM UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT GUIDELINES FOR SUMMER PROJECT - 2012

1. The project should be in any of the reputed firms for a period of 2 months and students should identify and introspect the problem areas in the organisation. 2. The objectives of this project is to observe all the functional areas in the company and to develop their practical knowledge. 3. The report should include the following: Introduction about the industry Majors players in the sector, competitors trends, market share & strengths Organisations profile, organisation structure and various departments present (Finance HR, Quality Control, Marketing, Sales etc.) in the organisation SWOT Analysis should be done A particular problem area should be identified from the organisation and a focused solution should be offered Extensive problem analysis should be done Best practices should be identified Solutions should be arrived for the problem area chosen 4. The project report should be soft bound (font color black, blackground color white) and a minimum of 50 pages 2 copies to be submitted. PLEASE NOTE: If solutions given by the students are acknowledged and accepted for implementation or implemented by the organisation, then a confirmatory note signed by the designating authority, stating suggestions were implemented or accepted for implementation should be attached to the report. The first and second BEST PROJECTS of each section of 1st year MBA will be identified and awarded with a certificate of merit for commendable SUMMER PROJECT work done. Dos Photocopy of the certificate issued from the company has to included in the project report. Summer training should be done with utmost sincerity and no complaints would be entertained by the college regarding the candidates behavior bearing in mind that this is the forerunner of the main project which is done in the final semester Students should promptly report to the organization and deviations, if any, should be communicated earlier Formal dress code should be followed

Donts

No part of the report should be reproduced or duplicated from other project reports, though done in the same firm or from anywhere else. If found, the entire report would be rejected.
