Bioprocess Engineering The primary objective of this course is to present an introduction to fundamental and applied aspects of industrial biochemical

processing. Topics include: cell structure and composition, cellular metabolism, and microbial kinetics, enzymes and their use in industry, bioreactor analysis and design, , and industrial equipment design based on the experimental data.

Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics I Scope and definitions, introduction to thermodynamics concepts, volumetric properties of real fluids, theoretical relations of the phases of multiple factors, dynamic heat charts, steam tables, heat effects, first law of thermodynamics, second law of thermodynamics liquefaction of gases, calculate the dynamic properties from the volumetric data and thermal capacities, Clapeyron and Clausius-Clapeyron equations, dynamic heat graphics, power and refrigeration cycles., pressure cycle of gases. Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics II Dynamic quantities, non-ideal relations for solids, liquids and gases, phase relations applications in calculating H and S based on the dynamic properties. Fugacity, partial molar quantities, gas Mixtures, ideal and non-ideal liquid and solid solutions, Vapor/liquid equilibrium. Theory and application of solution thermodynamics. Liquidvapor equilibria in multi-component systems, chemical reaction equilibrium, heat dynamic in chemical reactors and chemical equilibruim, applications in electrochemistry equilibrium.
