FRIT 7230: Video Planning Activity

Standard Technology operations and concepts A: demonstrate introductory knowledge, skills, and understanding of concepts related to technology (as described in the ISTE National Educational Technology Standard for students) Audience My target audience is any teacher or individual coming into the education field that does not have a basic understanding of how to set up a computer. Their ages and backgrounds will vary. This video maybe for brand new teachers, individuals who are in the education field as a second career, or the not so tech savvy. The educational levels vary from bachelors, masters, and doctorate degrees. All individuals should have a basic knowledge of the parts of a computer. Motivation (ARCS) Attention I will engage the audience with humor to maintain their attention while giving them step by stem directions of how to set up each component of the computer. Relevance One of the first things that teachers have to do when getting their classrooms in working order, at the beginning of the school year, is to set up the classroom computers. It is unsafe for computers to be set up and plugged in all summer. This is relevant for teachers who are new to setting up computers or who may need a refresher after a long break. Confidence The teacher of education staff will gain confidence and basic knowledge about computers and how to set them up in working order. Satisfaction The student will gain satisfaction in knowing that he or she independently set up his or her classroom computers without having to wait on technology support.

Objective C: Given examples of how to set up a computer with all of its components, A: the student B: will be able to set up his or her computer D: independently and without complications.
