PRESSURE ON STUDENTS FOR GETTING HIGHER GRADES

In todays era the pressure on students for getting higher grades is increasing day by day. As the society gets more competitive the pressure on students from parents, teachers and with in the students themselves is increasing to achieve better and better grades. This pressure which is received by the students has effected them a lot psychologically as well as physically. Students are pressured by there parents to get good grades, under pressure they dont care what method they use to get good grades they just memorize and dont understand the reasoning behind it this method gets them good grades, makes their parents and teachers happy but another thing what it does is it finishes the point of getting education the students give their exam and then forget because they had just memorized it and did not understand. Because of pressure from parents to get good grades students become so stressed and mentally exhausted that they may even cheat to achieve better grades in exams. In third world countries like Pakistan and India it is very common that the students give bribe to the personnels of board of education so that they can cheat and get good grades because of which they wont be scolded by their parents . Parents never seem to see the danger in pressurizing their children. Children may hurt themselves mentally as well as physically while preparing for the exams. Last year more than 150 students committed suicide just because they didnt get good grades and their parents scolded them. Many students hurt themselves because they cant get jobs as they didnt score a good GPA. It is very hard to study in this competitive society with pressure on their head from their parents and teachers. Students in America are using drugs now for attention disorder so that they can concentrate more to get higher grades. Denise Clark pope (2003), "pressure by parents and schools to achieve top scores has created stress levels amongst students, beginning as early as elementary school, that are so high that some educators regard it as a health epidemic. In conclusion, demands from family, teachers and friends can relentlessly harm students. During school, students should get education not pressure to get good grades because if a person is getting good grades it doesnt obviously means that he is an educated person.
