Works Notification

Following recent consultation with residents in the area, plans to carry out works to improve cycle accessibility at the Hertford Road/Stamford Road junction have now been approved. The decision has taken into consideration the outcome of the consultation as summarised below: 1) Are you in favour of the proposed scheme? 74% Yes 26% No You can view detailed consultation reports on www.hackney.gov.uk/consultation and clicking on Consultation Finder. The amended proposals include: xtending the existing kerb build out on the E southeastern side of Stamford Road to create space for a dropped kerb for cyclists. Only one car space will be lost. xtending the pavement on Hertford Road up E to the existing bollard line to make better use of the redundant road space behind the bollards. he existing row of bollards will be replaced T with a combination of bollards and trees with a dropped kerb for cycle access on to the raised pavement.

Installing granite setts around tree pits Construction The works are scheduled to start during the week commencing 19 November 2012 and will take up to 4 weeks to complete. The works are not likely to have any impact on traffic however suspension of parking on bays close to the works will be carried out and residents may be asked to find alternative parking. Please avoid parking in the work zones, which will be clearly marked with signs, cones and barriers, as offending vehicles may be removed. The Council apologises for any inconvenience that these works may cause.
