CPH Reflection
There is absolutely no better way to realize the extent of poverty in our country than to completely immerse oneself in the culture; the way of life and the perils of a poor society. The community visit was an eye opener for everyone in my class, it sparked our dormant desire to help the less fortunate. I have seen many residents who live a life none of us humans deserve. Families reside on a plywood shelter one can hardly call a house. Many children are malnourished and some do not attend proper schooling. I have learned our world is full of people that are suffering in the slums while some of us bask on the comforts of our concrete homes. It is our moral obligation as humans to help one another in spite of our differences. It isnt about changing the world or any of that dramatic shenanigans, its about acting as humane as possible, which is a noble task for a civilized person. This way, I hope, we can build a better society for our children to see in the future.
