October 26, 2012 Dear Parents/Guardians: American Education Week begins on Monday, November 12. American Education Weeks tagline, Great Public Schools: A Basic Right and Our Responsibility, calls upon all Americans to do their part in making public schools great for every child so that they can grow and achieve in the 21st century. You are cordially invited to visit your childs classroom according to the schedule printed below. If your child receives support services through special education, the reading department or as an English Language Learner, please contact those teachers directly to schedule a visit during your childs instructional time. Parents are invited to be part of Physical Education , Art and Music classes the week of November 12-16. This will be a great opportunity for you to see your child in these classes. Please realize that this time is for visitation only and is not intended for parent-teacher conferences. Our goal is for you to visit your childs classroom, specials and support service classes, so that you can view the educational program at Highcrest School. We ask that you not bring infants or preschool children in order to minimize interruptions to classroom instructional programs. Additionally, we ask that you turn off all electronic devices while you are visiting in your childs classroom. Thank you for your continuing support and I look forward to seeing you during American Education Week. For your convenience, all visitors must sign in at the table in our school lobby and receive a visitors badge.
